There are apparently a lot of problems on the University of Guelph campus. Our Media Studies class managed to fill up three chalkboards with all of our qualms and complaints. Then, we were tasked with sorting our complaints into larger problems, choosing one, and in small groups, to solve one of them.
Our group decided we needed to create awareness regarding the lack of accessible space on campus. Below is our petition, and along with it we are going to be putting stickers and posters up around campus, as well as geotagging which buildings on campus are or are not accessible.
You can sign our petition here.
The two images above are what you can look out for all across Southern Ontario Campuses. As part of our initiative, we will send the image to students from other major campuses and have them join our campaign to pressure organizations into creating more accessible space for differently-abled individuals.
